This one really blows me away for something that was just a casual shot from my beach lounger. Between the purple hues on the lens flare, the light seeming to shoot into the bottle, and the airplane trail, it seems like something out of a sci-fi film.
Except to remove a small blemish, I did no post-processing on this whatsoever.
I took much more interesting photos today, but this one had a sort of old-timey, hanging in an Irish pub kind of look to it that just spoke to me.
Obviously I went a little crazy with the post-processing, but I love the mix of colors and lines. I wish I could have done more to bring out the red in the bramble in the bottom-left, but my photoshop chops are meager at best!
Best of a very small pool today unfortunately. It was raining today and I just don't know how sensitive my DSLR is to such things. Anyone know how much water exposure is "safe"?
I love this photo. A big part is my pride in getting close enough (despite my diminutive zoom) to get the shot without getting the heebie-jeebies too badly. But mainly it's that look in the bee's eyes of like, "wtf u lookin' at?"
This is Matilda who turned 3 on New Year's Day. She is my favorite photo subject, so I have been trying not to post her too early since I want to branch out a little bit, but I just couldn't resist this one -- the look in her eyes just tells too much of a story. This is also one of my rare attempts at black & white which I have a hard time grasping.
My first attempt at shooting with the bulb. This was a 60 second exposure -- those faint lights in the background you see are Africa which was not visible to the naked eye on this night.
Don't know what I'm going to do when I get back to Manchester and don't have this stunning canvas to work with!
Fallacious yet widespread and documented beliefs courtesy of Wikipedia.
The Immaculate Conception is not synonymous with the virgin birth of Jesus, nor is it a supposed belief in the virgin birth of Mary, his mother. Rather, the Immaculate Conception is the Roman Catholic belief that Mary was not subject to original sin from the first moment of her existence, when she was conceived. The concept of the virgin birth, on the other hand, is the belief that Mary miraculously conceived Jesus while remaining a virgin.

Despite the peaceful foundations of global monotheistic religions, the broad diversity of interpretations can lead to a sharp paradox regarding the use of force. Inevitably, we must ask ourselves: How can those who ascribe to peaceful beliefs suspend their own moral foundation to beat the drums of war? ... read more
