This is Matilda and you will probably be seeing a great deal more of her. It's actually a sign of great restraint on my part that my 365:2011 was not full of my kids, but seeing as how she is a New Year's Baby (today is her birthday) it seems right to give her the number-1 position in 2012!
This one really blows me away for something that was just a casual shot from my beach lounger. Between the purple hues on the lens flare, the light seeming to shoot into the bottle, and the airplane trail, it seems like something out of a sci-fi film.
Except to remove a small blemish, I did no post-processing on this whatsoever.

Evolution is not a progression from inferior to superior organisms, and it also does not necessarily result in an increase in complexity. A population can evolve to become simpler, having a smaller genome, but devolution is a misnomer.
