Wednesday Wish List – Super Spy Glasses!!

in Products, Science & Technology, Surveillance Society, Wednesday Wish List

The Eyez project is developing a pair of stylish specs with a hidden 720p video camera, mic and 8GB of memory.  But wait, that’s not all!  These badboys are also Bluetooth-enabled so, when coupled with a mobile phone, can stream live video out to the web.  Take that dirty cops!

Our engineering team at ZionEyez is currently developing Eyez, the latest innovation in personal video recording technology. Eyez embeds a 720p HD video camera within a pair of eyeglasses designed to record live video data. The recorded data can be stored on the 8GB of flash memory within the Eyez glasses, transferred via Bluetooth or Micro USB to a computer, or wirelessly transferred to most iPhone or Android devices. After a one-time download of the "Eyez" smartphone and tablet app, users can wirelessly broadcast the video in real time to their preferred social networking website.

Wednesday Wish List – We are Borg – your wrists will be assimilated

in Inventions, Products, Wednesday Wish List

roller_phone41 Ok, so not technically a real product yet, but until Amazon delivers my my retinal HUD lenses, I’ll have something more realistic to look forward to:

This concept from designer Alexey Chugunnikov is a combination time-telling device and telephone, doing both things in unexpected, futuristic ways. It looks like something out of a science fiction movie, yet it’s gloriously within reach. And you want one.

Wednesday Wish List – Star Wars Mos Eisley Cantina Bookends: Droooool ….

in Geek, Products, Sci-Fi, Wednesday Wish List

Currently out of stock at Amazon, but I’ll be in geek heaven when one of you decides to buy me these puppies.  ‘Course since I’m exclusively on Kindle these days I’ll have to find something else to separate these two nutters.  Perhaps my growing pile of unpaid bills?  That’ll show ‘em!

And we all know that Han shot first, eh Mr. Lucas?

It’s Techie Tuesday and I am A-Ga-Ga over this concept phone from Mozilla Labs

in Inventions, Products, Science & Technology, Techie Tuesday

Holy Guacamole, can you say ‘Want’?!  This video, produced by Billy May of Mozilla Labs, is a crowd-sourced wishlist of technological ambrosia based entirely on existing technology.  The Mozilla Seabird is envisaged as an Andoid-based operating system running “an 8 megapixel camera, dual side pico projectors, wireless charging, and an embedded Bluetooth dongle,” this phone has everything you need to finally shed your laptop and impress people who are impressed by this kind of tom-geekery.  Mozilla is clear that the phone is concept-only – something they have no plans to develop – but it definitely raises the bar for the next big iPhone killer.  Warning: this video will forever ruin any love-affair you might have with your phone – which might not be a bad thing you sicko-pervert.

in Food, Funny, Geek, Inventions, Products, Sci-Fi, Wednesday Wish List

Tired of eating corn like all the other straights?  So was Shed Simove until he came up with Cornobi!  Now when you’re eating lunch by yourself, the cool kids will be too busy laughing to notice the corn stuck in your teeth!

I couldn't find one of these badboys for sale on his website, but head on over anyways for some other fun yum-yums.  Until they are back in stock, you can at least enjoy the demonstration video!

Kisai Broke - geeky conversation piece or selfish time hoarder?

in Geek, Products

Uber-geeks rejoice!  No longer are you bound by dictated fashion trends or plain-vanilla Binary timepieces.   TokyoFlash has delivered a new way to display time that is easy enough for a child yet esoteric enough to confuse anyone outside the "know".  Seriously, if the RIAA sat down to design a watch, this would be the result - a timepiece we can enjoy secure in the knowledge that no passing stranger will be able to 'steal' the time that we worked so hard to pay for!

We have to get out of LA - it's all comin' down!

in Animation, Capitalism, Corporatism, Intellectual Property, Products, Video

Welcome to Logorama - quite simply the most enjoyable and provocative short I've seen in Donkey's years!  Logorama was directed by the French H5 collective and debuted at last year's Cannes festival.  It later won an Academy award under the “animated short” category.

It's a bit long (about 16 minutes), and definitely NOT suitable for work, but totally worth it.  I watched it and then watched it again.  I think I might grab a third showing after I post this.  Enjoy!
