This is my attempt at submitting something to the Week 5 theme (Bokeh). This is an old tree stump with a tight focus on the outer edge.
I like the spheres of color in the background, though am perplexed by what makes this happen since, with the human eye, these usually end up as lines. Anyone have a scientific explanation for this?

According to the California Academy of Sciences, around 41% of U.S. adults mistakenly believe humans and dinosaurs coexisted. However, the last of the dinosaurs died around 65 million years ago, after the Cretaceous–Tertiary extinction event, whereas the earliest Homo genus (humans) evolved between 2.3 and 2.4 million years ago.
