About a mile outside of my new house there is an old Tudor mansion surrounded by forested walking paths. Along the entire estate there were probably several hundred people just enjoying the atmosphere though it was large enough to feel as though there were a general air of privacy. I just can't imagine what a shocking display of affluence it must have been for all this land and beauty to belong to a single family.
