No real inspiration today, but did have a moment to whip out the new supermacro. These are pixels -- pixles! -- from my very hi-res monitor! Odd, I had aloways imagined they would be perfect squares, but it looks like they have triangle cut out of the southwest corner?
My camera came with a cheap 18-55mm lens that I've had sitting around for the last year. I found a video -- www.photographybay.com/2010/06/21/how-to-create-a-canon-1... -- that deatils how to convert it into a supermacro lens. Totally awesome (though a crazy amount of hard work). Spent the whole night doing the conversion, so had very little time for actual photos, but here is one of the boards I'm not using anymore. Actually about the size of a U.S. Quarter!
I let my four year old get her tongue pierced -- isn't that great! Actually, we made some homemade sushi tonight and Matilda is showing off the joys of Salmon Roe.

This seems to have its origins in German propaganda efforts following the Charge at Krojanty in which a Polish cavalry brigade surprised German infantry in the open and charged with sabres until driven off by armoured cars. While Polish cavalry still carried the sabre for such opportunities, they were trained to fight as highly mobile, dismounted infantry and issued with light anti-tank weapons.
