To my curious readers:

What is The Hindsight Factor?

The Hindsight Factor has been in operation since the summer of 2002. It is primarily a U.S.-centric blog but from a totally international perspective, solid left-wing progressive values but with open arms to all enlightened souls, positive - Positive - POSITIVE vibes but with eyes wide open to the harsh reality, and a chill intellectual coffeeshop atmosphere but with unpretentious and accessible conversation.

Basically, hippie-guy with a Ph.D.

The site was redesigned in May of 2006 after a 1-year educational and travel hiatus

Who is Jay Daverth?

I am an expatriate American living in Dublin where I am completing a Ph.D. in International Peace Studies. My focus is primarily on global security with an emphasis on network security threats (terrorism in the common vernacular). When I'm not writing, I am on an ongoing quest to experience as much of the world as possible. So far, I have visited over 30 countries in 4 continents and do not plan to rest until I've seen all the rest. Twice.

My last U.S. residency was in Austin, Texas. Easily the best little city in this world or any other. Since leaving, I've been stuck without any decent tortillas and queso for nearly six years. Please help me!

How to contact me:

I do not leave my email address directly as I receive far too much spam as it is. And for some reason, my viewers feel obligated to subscribe me to every listserv imaginable. I can be reached via the site's contact function.

I enjoy reading your emails and endeavor to reply to as many as possible. Please don't feel insulted if it may take a few days. I do have to earn a living (since blogging don't pay my considerable sushi bills like it youst'a).
